PENC's main areas for legislative engagement include: professional licensure scope, standards, and protection transportation, buildings, and water/wastewater infrastructure and sustainability resource stewardship for water and energy and general regulatory reform. If you are interested in receiving real-time updates as legislation is filed and advances, please complete the form at this link. The Advocacy Shop represents PENC before the NC General Assembly and state government. House rules limit members to filing no more than 15 public bills as primary sponsor. Fifty seven bills were filed by 5pm on Thursday (31 in the House and 26 in the Senate) and we know to expect hundreds more from each chamber before the various bill filing deadlines over the coming months (which depend on the type of bill). North Carolina lawmakers returned to the General Assembly in Raleigh on Wednesday, January 27th and are already off to the races.
